The Accra Business School says it is committed to significantly reposition itself for the future to achieve its goal of becoming the leading business school in Africa.

Among other things it has introduced to achieve such target is the establishment of a novelty, Home-Uni that offers academic programmes 100% online with a range of academic, professional and upskilling and upscaling short courses that will widen access to programmes not just in Ghana but across West Africa.

Also targeted is strengthening the internationalization agenda of Accra Business School with an advanced talk with two UK schools and one in Ireland to enable it deliver a range of high-quality international degree and postgraduate courses in September 2021.

Another feature of the expanding international network is the establishment of a strategic relationship with the Cambridge International Education Centre who are designing bespoke teaching and learning materials for a range of ABS and home-Uni courses to strengthen the learning experience of students.

Also being done is significantly developing the school’s course profile. For instance, the Home-Uni will be offering specialist vocationally orientated Postgraduate Certificate courses in a range of high-demand areas and also Home-Uni to offer intensive ‘high-end African Young Leaders Fellowship Programme to better prepare the next generation African leaders with effect from January 2021.

The ABS is also enhancing its campus infrastructure. It began the construction of the Christ Square, a modern twin-tower facility comprising a library, forty-bed facility, 12 lecture halls, restaurant, an outdoor eatery and executive learning spaces.

President of the School, Prof. Cedric Bell made this known in his welcome address at the 9th Congregation ceremony which saw 190 students conferred with various degrees and awarded diplomas. The graduands consisted of 150 MBAs, 28 Postgraduate Diplomas and 12 Bachelors.

The event was held at the forecourt of the Accra Business School’s newly constructed ‘Christ Square’ facility on the theme: ‘Designing the future’. Keynote Speaker was Dr. Bernard Okoe Boye, Deputy Health Minister who was also among the graduating MBA students.

Prof. Cedric Bell congratulated the graduands for the success, sustained commitment to their studies and determination and perseverance.

Constituting the congregation, Prof. Kwame Omane-Antwi, Chair, Court of Governors of the Accra Business School indicated that the School, led by the President and his team of faculty members has perfected the ‘whole education’ concept as a sacred duty; religiously following the concept and building simple education and training principles as trade secret. Three of such trade secrets of ABS he mentioned includes: Relevant and engaging education, building resilience such as developing self-awareness, self-discipline, entrepreneurship and developing good citizens.

Speaking in an interview with the media, Bishop Gideon Titi-Ofei, Founder and CEO, Accra Business School emphasized that entrepreneurship education is at the heart of everything it does as the school was established to create job creators and not job seekers.

“These graduands will go out there, create jobs, increase income and reduce poverty. We believe there is a direct correlation between democratic stability and economic empowerment. In every country where people are economically empowered democracy has strived. So for Accra business school job creators are at the heart of everything we do and I will say it has been a fantastic journey so far”.

Vice President of the School, Prof. Elvis Cornerstone in his report reminded that as the school celebrates the achievement of graduands in obtaining their awards and degrees, it should pride itself on the quality of its teaching and of the learning and student experience.

He informed that so far the total admission on all programs exceeds 1,800. Out of the number, 752 students have graduated so far. This is made up of 465 MBAs, 196 Postgraduate Diplomas and 71 Bachelors and Level 7 Extended Diplomas.
